WEDNESDAY 8th NOVEMBER Something a bit different today - let's indulge ourselves and enjoy??? some picture with which we more easily recognize without the water!! In and around the Clubhouse. These pictures taken by Eddie Bacon when the clubhouse was being evacuated show the river about two foot deep in the club house. Since then ( Last Tuesday ) the river has been up to about 5 foot deep in the clubhouse!! The river remains high today and again this evening the high tide will put continued strain on the defences and resources - more tomorrow - enjoy the pictures

TUESDAY 7th NOVEMBER We await the next high flood mark tonight - will the defenses hold - will the rain and water that has fallen over the Dales in the last three days over-top the defences which have been reinforced by the army, council and a multitude of willing volunteers? The river in York is expected to peak over night and we will bring you news tomorrow of the consequences. The head lads of the York City Rowing Club (in every sense of the word) are currently deliberating about the chances of the York Small Boats Head surviving - we will bring you that decision - which is looking more and more likely to be a postponement as the days go by - keep visiting the site for more details. Also keep clicking on this banner to see other rowing news and to give us support. That dear photographer George has been out again to let you have a look at the course for the Small Boats Head !! - there's no stopping him since we mended his wellies!!
