Thought I would drop you a line to let you know of my trip to Princeton last week to race at the World Veteran Regatta with Greenbank Falmouth and Dart Totnes, representing Great Britain.

I got asked to join the crew following a successful race at Henley Veteran Regatta in July. We didn't win, but rowed really well together, so we thought we'd go and show the Americans how its done!

We had 3 races in Princeton, all straight finals in Vet A, B and C. Each event had at least 5 crews racing each other. We came 3rd in Vet A, joint 3rd in Vet B (missing out on a gold by 1.5 secs!) and 5th in Vet C (by then we were shattered! Especially as each race was rowed in over 80 degree heat).

Had a really enjoyable week, and managed a site seeing trip to New York too.

It was great to see York City Rowing Club up there with the likes of Montreal, Idaho and other American clubs.
